Autumn is finally here! Although it may not feel like October after the strangest year ever, you can now get ready and get set for pumpkin spice lattes, chunky knits and crunchy leaves underfoot.
We have pulled together this edit of the best autumn must-haves for the active mum…enjoy!

Get serious with your baby carrier

If you love walking, hiking or getting out into the countryside for some fresh air of a weekend, you need a baby carrier that will go the distance. Baby or child carriers are different to slings and papooses – they usually offer structure that will allow slightly older babies and tots to sit up and look at the world around them.
The Ranger S2 carrier from LittleLife is the lightest British Standard Approved back carrier available at only 1.7kg. Being so light, it’s perfect for active mums who want to get out and about without a buggy.  It’s also super sturdy and structured meaning it’s easy to carry for longer walks.

Workout hoodie for the win

Having a lightweight hoodie to throw over our workout gear when it’s chilly can make a huge difference to your motivation levels. If you’re heading out for a run, or even walking (or driving!) to the gym, something to cover your arms can keep you toasty until you warm up naturally.
We love the ZAAZEE Amelia cropped hoodie, as it’s super light and perfect for layering up over your workout tops. What’s more, as it’s cropped, you can easily tie it around your waist if needs be, and if features thumbholes and subtle reflective branding if you love to look cool as well as functional!
ZAAZEE gear is made slowly using advanced technical fabrics, so the pieces last and last wash after wash, wear after wear. The perfect antidote to fast, throwaway fashion…

Puddlesuits for the tots

If your toddler is hell bent on jumping in every puddle they come across (Peppa Pig has a lot to answer for!) you’ll need a puddle suit, and some decent wellies for your autumn jaunts.
Puddle suits are usually lightweight and can be popped on over clothes, but for chillier days, we just adore this fleece lined puddle suit from eco brand, Muddy Puddles.
Made with recycled materials, it comes in three gorgeous colourways perfect for both girls and boys. At £50, it’s not cheap, but you can always pass on the love or sell on an auction or marketplace site when your tot has grown out of it.
Muddy Puddles also sells fabulous wellies – we love the fleece lined, pillar box red PuddleFlex ones that boast ties at the top – they will stop even the most vigorous puddle jumping resulting in soggy socks!

The BEST Cacao Vegan Hot Chocolate

Oh ladies, we just have to share this one with you! The Buump Active team has discovered the best dark hot chocolate ever – and it’s just perfect for chilly, rainy autumn evenings as you snuggle up on the sofa before bed.
Made with one of the world’s greatest single estate cacaos from Colombia, this to-die-for hot chocolate from Willie’s Cacao is rich and bursting with flavour. 100% natural, it is made from just two ingredients – cacao and raw cane sugar.
You can make it entirely vegan by making it with creamy barista-style oat milk, or use cow’s milk if you are a dairy fan.  Trust us on this one, it’s perfection!

Boost your immunity with Vitamin D

If the sun stays behind the clouds, you may need a bit of extra help with certain vitamins over the coming months.  Healthspan is a great site for good value, high quality vitamins – and they recommend High Strength Vegan Vitamin D3 for extra immunity in autumn and winter.
The description says: Known as the ‘sunshine vitamin’, vitamin D is essential in supporting your immune system, and maintaining healthy muscles, bones and teeth. It is synthesised in the skin via exposure to sunlight, but in the UK, one in five of us has low levels. In fact, Public Health England recommends that a 10 microgram vitamin D supplement should be taken daily by all.
The Healthspan super strength vitamin D3 supplement contains 25 micrograms, made using a plant-based form of vitamin D, and provides great benefits to your health, wellbeing and immunity.

Give your hands a treat

All the extra hand washing and sanitiser may have left your hands feeling dry and flaky – and believe us, the winter weather and central heating will certainly not help. Give your hands a huge treat by lathering them with this AMAZING skin fix intensive cream from the Nursem brand.
This gorgeous-feeling luxuriously lovely cream can be used before bed so your hands can recover overnight.  It calms redness and irritation with colloidal oatmeal, regenerates your skin with hyaluronic acid, pro vitamin B5 allantoin, and protects with avocado oil and shea butter.
You can buy it directly from the Nursem site, or – if you’re a Prime member – grab it from Amazon to save on delivery costs (shhh!).
