Whilst we’re in half term and have the Summer slowly approaching, we want to tell you not to panic! Having the kids for long periods of time without the sweet relief of school and nursery can often be a scary thought. That’s why we’ve compiled a list of the best places to visit in the North West, to help keep the kids entertained and keep your sanity intact.

Science and Industry Museum – Manchester

This is a great day out if you’ve got kids interested in learning more about the world. You can discover Manchester’s journey through the industrial revolution era right through to the present day, all brought to life through lots of interactive exhibitions, lively shows, daily demonstrations. On top of this, the kids can conduct their own experiments and witness science come to life before their own eyes. Additionally, there are plenty of resources available for the younger ones aged 0-4.

CBBC Tour – Media City

This exclusive tour will help to bring your kids favourite characters to life, from Horrible Histories, through to the classics like Blue Peter. Go behind the scenes of your kiddies favourite shows, with both interactive and educational tours. The tours last around an hour and a half and there are plenty of photo opportunities along the way.

Inflata Nation Manchester

This really is fun (and fitness!) for the whole family. You’ll feel like a kid again at INflata Nation. This is the ultimate inflatable theme park where you can enjoy a huge mix of activities, from an inflatable climbing wall through to inflatable assault course. They also have a huge range of classes suitable for tots and pre-schoolers, so that even the smallest of bouncers can have fun.

Location: The park is located in Trafford Park, which is close by to Trafford Park Metrolink

Chester Zoo

Chester Zoo is one of the best zoos in the country, home to 21,000 endangered and exotic creatures, 500 species and 125 acres of habitats. The zoo is huge on conservation, and has even had its own show ‘Secret Life of The Zoo’. Whether your little ones love orangutans, tigers, or giraffes, they’re sure to have a great day out.

Location: Chester Zoo is based on the outskirts of Chester. It is most easily accessible by car, but there is also a bus that runs from Chester train station as well

Gullivers World

This theme park is based in Warrington and is a great day out for the whole family. There are over 80 rides all designed with family in mind. You can step into Alice’s Wonderland or explore the lost world alongside dinosaurs.

Location: Based closeby to Warrington, this theme park is best to reach via car
